Raw ODM

A cloud alternative to WebODM on your own PC

Your PC runs out of memory, or is busy for days? Raw ODM runs unaltered OpenDroneMap processing software (ODM 3.6.2) with the same ODM options you know from WebODM, on our machines with up to 896 GB RAM. €0.10 per image, results in your browser.

GIJA MAPS and Raw ODM are not officially associated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenDroneMap, WebODM or their products. These names are used only to describe the software we run and what it works with.

When your own PC is not enough

  • Out of memory: big datasets and high quality settings need more RAM than most desktops have. Our machines have up to 896 GB.
  • Your PC stays free: processing runs on our machines, so you can keep working, or switch your PC off.
  • No installation: no Docker, no updates, no GPU drivers. Upload your photos and choose your settings.

Not our presets

Our presets (2D, 3D Area and 3D Object) are GIJA MAPS' own processing pipeline. They are not WebODM or ODM. Raw ODM is the other way round: unaltered ODM, nothing of ours in the processing, and your settings decide the result.

What you get

  • Unaltered ODM 3.6.2, run once with the settings you choose. We do not change the values you choose.
  • A settings form with every stock ODM option, and saved configs you can reuse between jobs.
  • A few options are set by us: GPU off, concurrency, COG output, and glTF output when a 3D model is built. Path and split-merge options are not available.
  • Machines with up to 896 GB RAM and a time limit of 36 hours per job.
  • Results in the normal GIJA MAPS viewers (orthophoto, point cloud, 3D model and DSM, where ODM produced them), plus ODM's own report.pdf. Files are delivered through the storage share, like other jobs. Viewer copies are made after ODM finishes and never change your downloads.
  • Share results with your clients in password-protected galleries, with photo lookup and measurements.
  • Ground control points: put gcp_list.txt (and geo.txt if you use it) together with your photos when you upload.

Price

€0.10 per image. Raw ODM is not free, and not part of the free tier. The price is shown before you start.

Who carries the risk

  • If ODM stops with an error or gives a poor result, you still pay for the job. That includes failures caused by your settings, your images, or ODM itself: ODM is open-source software that we run unchanged, and some steps can fail sporadically.
  • If our servers or infrastructure cause the failure, the job is rerun free of charge.
  • We check each job before it starts. If it clearly exceeds what our machines can run, it is refused and you are not charged. This check is not a promise that a job will finish: a job that stops making progress or reaches the 36-hour limit is stopped, and that counts as a settings failure.
  • Before the job starts you confirm the above.
  • We make no promise about how the results compare with reality. Check in the field when it matters.
  • Nothing on this page limits any rights you have by law as a consumer.

Questions and answers

Is there a cloud alternative to WebODM?
Raw ODM runs unaltered ODM 3.6.2, the processing engine WebODM also uses, on our machines. You keep your ODM options, and your own PC stays free. It is not WebODM, and GIJA MAPS is not affiliated with OpenDroneMap.
What can I do when WebODM runs out of memory?
Lower the quality settings, split the dataset, or run it on a machine with more RAM. Raw ODM runs your job on machines with up to 896 GB RAM, without changing your settings.
Is Raw ODM the same as WebODM?
No. Raw ODM is GIJA MAPS' own settings form and viewers around unaltered ODM 3.6.2. WebODM is a separate project.
Can I use the settings I use in WebODM?
Yes. Every stock ODM option is in the form under its ODM name, such as pc-quality, feature-quality and mesh-octree-depth. Save your settings as a config and reuse them. A few options are fixed by us: GPU off, concurrency, COG output and glTF output for 3D models. Path and split-merge options are not available.
Which ODM version do you run?
ODM 3.6.2, unmodified. The source code for that version is linked below.
How large a job can it process?
Machines with up to 896 GB RAM, and up to 36 hours per job. Jobs that clearly exceed this are refused before you pay.
What does it cost?
€0.10 per image. The total is shown before you start.
What happens if processing fails?
If our servers cause the failure, the job is rerun free of charge. If ODM stops with an error, you still pay for the job, whether the cause is your settings, your images or a sporadic failure in ODM itself.
Can I use ground control points?
Yes. Put gcp_list.txt (and geo.txt if you use it) together with your photos when you upload.
What do I get?
Orthophoto, point cloud, 3D model and DSM in our browser viewers where ODM produced them, plus ODM's own report.pdf. All files are delivered through your storage share.
